About meAfter more than 20 years working in IT and electronics, including several years as a professional repair technician, I decided to offer repair and restoration services on a limited basis alongside my main career.

Audio has always been my primary interest, but over the years I have worked on everything from cameras and medical equipment to automotive electronics, power supplies, industrial control systems and computers.If it's electronic, and the time, cost and outcome make sense, it's usually repairable.

Before you get in touchA few things worth knowing:• I am not a repair shop, just someone who genuinely enjoys fixing things (my name is Tudor by the way)

• Turnaround times vary depending on workload and parts availability
• I rarely take on urgent work
• I don't rush repairs and prefer to do things properly
• Parts are sourced carefully and may occasionally come from overseas
• Costs are discussed individually for each project
• I rarely charge a diagnostic fee and do not have fixed pricing

Audio repair, restoration and upgradesMost of my work involves repairing, restoring and improving audio equipment that is no longer manufactured and often written off unnecessarily.Many vintage amplifiers, CD players, DACs, cassette decks and turntables were built to a standard rarely seen today. With proper servicing, repair and selective upgrades, they can often perform exceptionally well for many years to come.I regularly work on:• Integrated and power amplifiers

Typical faults range from completely dead units and poor sound quality to intermittent faults and equipment damaged by previous repair attempts.Repairs are diagnosis-led, not guesswork. The aim is always to identify and fix the root cause rather than simply treating symptoms.Upgrades and modificationsMany older audio products use excellent circuit designs but were built to a budget. Carefully chosen component upgrades can often improve both reliability and performance.Typical upgrades include:• Replacement of ageing capacitors
• Op-amp upgrades where appropriate
• Power supply improvements
• Reliability and thermal improvementsAny modifications are discussed beforehand and only recommended where there is a genuine technical or audible benefit.
